About the Author
Dr. Jiyoon Yoon is an Associate Professor of Science Education at the University of Texas at Arlington. She earned her Ph.D. from Indiana University Bloomington in Science Education and Curriculum and Instruction. Dr. Yoon brings extensive expertise in science education research and instructional technology, working with both pre-service and in-service educators to strengthen teaching and learning practices.
She has led multiple international initiatives that foster collaboration and cultural exchange between educators and students in the United States and Korea. Through these programs, Dr. Yoon supports innovative, culturally responsive teaching approaches that connect science learning to students’ diverse backgrounds and global perspectives.
Dr. Yoon currently teaches science education methods and research courses and leads nationally and internationally funded projects focused on enhancing science learning environments through the integration of culture and technology. Her work is dedicated to expanding equitable access to high-quality science education and preparing students to thrive in an increasingly interconnected global society.
