Acknowledgments
This textbook was made possible through the support of two grants: the UTA CARES Grant and the COIL Grant.
UTA CARES Grant Program
The creation of this OER Pressbook was generously supported by the UTA CARES Grant Program, sponsored by UTA Libraries. Operating under the Coalition for Alternative Resources in Education for Students (CARES), the program supports educators who engage in open education practices through the adoption of Open Educational Resources (OER) and, when appropriate resources are not available, through the creation of new OER or the adoption of library-licensed or other freely available content. In addition, the CARES Grant Program promotes innovation in teaching and learning by encouraging open educational practices, including collaboration with students to create educational materials that benefit a broader learning community.
Texas COIL Grant
This project was also made possible through funding from the Texas International Education Fund (TIEF) Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) Grant. The COIL Grant provides direct support to the principal investigator, Dr. Jiyoon Yoon, who leads the design and facilitation of virtual international collaborations for undergraduate pre-service teachers. Through a partnership with Ewha Womans University in Korea, pre-service teachers gain valuable insights into culturally responsive instructional design and student engagement strategies, enabling meaningful international connections between students at both institutions through the use of technology.
