- Think of someone who exemplifies everything you aspire to be in terms of their good behavior in the workplace. List the qualities and actions that make them such a good, well-liked model for behavior.
- Think of someone who exemplifies everything you aspire to avoid in terms of their misconduct in the workplace. List the qualities and typical misbehavior that make them so unlikable.
- Discuss a time in which you experienced effective and ineffective interpersonal communication in your personal or professional life. Discuss what could have improved the interaction.
- What are the verbal and nonverbal signs for a professional individual indicating that they do not have time, or they have possibly lost interest in the conversation?
- Introduce yourself to a new coworker via telephone call. What type of professional information would you incorporate?
- Introduce yourself to a supervisor in person. What type of professional information would you incorporate?
- You are introduced to a new hire who will be your partner in multiple projects. You are not sure about how to pronounce their name. What will you do to resolve this issue?
